Nova Energy, an energy company in New Zealand, has partnered with Optiva to launch its Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) services. Nova Energy, which currently provides electricity, natural gas, and broadband services, will leverage Optiva’s BSS (Business Support System) to offer mobile services and bundle them with its existing business lines.
By utilizing Optiva’s BSS for MVNOs, Nova Energy gains the flexibility to create and launch innovative bundled plans and packages, enabling a superior customer experience. Unlike traditional MVNOs that rely on a telecom provider’s BSS platform, Nova Energy is the first in New Zealand to launch MVNO operations with its own in-house BSS cloud platform powered by Optiva.
Nova Energy has deployed Optiva’s BSS cloud platform in its data center and plans to introduce new MVNO services tailored to the needs of its market. The Optiva platform allows Nova Energy to scale and expand its offerings in a cost-effective manner. Subscribers will enjoy a digital-first, self-serve experience facilitated by Optiva’s standard APIs.
The partnership between Nova Energy and Optiva aims to support Nova Energy’s growth by adding MVNO services to its existing portfolio. Optiva’s BSS platform is designed to enable the introduction of service plans, ensure resilience for mission-critical services, and provide a low total cost of ownership, aligning with Nova Energy’s MVNO strategy and business objectives.
Nova Energy gains the flexibility to bundle mobile services with its existing offerings, delivering superior customer experiences and driving market share growth. With its in-house BSS cloud platform powered by Optiva, Nova Energy becomes the first company in New Zealand to launch MVNO operations independently. The partnership allows Nova Energy to introduce innovative bundled plans and packages, tailored to meet the diverse demands of the market, while providing a digital-first, self-serve experience for subscribers. This strategic move positions Nova Energy to seize growth opportunities and further strengthen its presence in the telecommunications sector.
