The Bihar government is gearing up for a massive teacher recruitment drive in 2024. They are set to open applications to fill a substantial 69,692 teacher vacancies across the state’s middle, secondary, and senior secondary schools. In a significant move to address the shortage of educators and enhance the quality of education, the state education department sent a letter dated October 6 seeking approval from the accountant general. This approval is a crucial step in the process, as it paves the way for the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) to commence the fresh registration for the Bihar teachers 2023 recruitment.
The commitment of the Bihar government to education reform was evident when the cabinet approved a proposal last month to appoint nearly 70,000 teachers for government schools. This reflects a clear intent to bolster the state’s educational infrastructure and provide students with the necessary teaching resources. The state education department has also taken a proactive approach by finalizing the details of this teacher recruitment initiative. This includes subject-wise teacher vacancies and salary structures, ensuring a transparent and well-organized recruitment process.

Bihar TGT, PGT Vacancies:
- For classes 6 to 8, there are 31,982 teacher vacancies.
- For classes 9 to 10, there are 18,880 teacher vacancies.
- For classes 11 to 12, there are 18,830 teacher vacancies.
- In total, there are 69,692 teacher vacancies across these different categories.
The results of the BPSC TRE 2023 (Bihar Public Service Commission Teacher Recruitment Examination 2023) are currently awaited. The Chairman of BPSC, Atul Prasad, has appealed to the candidates who took the BPSC TRE 2023 exams to exercise patience and allow the Commission to complete the evaluation process. The BPSC TRE 2023 schoolteacher recruitment test took place from August 26 to August 28.
